158 days and then it was all over, as I nervously walked away.
“It’s OKAY to BE WEAK…….We aren’t robots. We live, laugh, love, screw up, start over, do better, blow it, then try again. I do. And there is a blessing to being weak. It offers others the gift of being strong for us. When we allow others to help us, we are giving them a gift. We feel good when we can help others. Why would others be different? So many of you take time to comment, encourage, offer help and you guys make me better each day……We are not alone.” — K. Lamb
Today is the first day to the rest of my life! It was the last paragraph of that particular chapter of my life. I felt no choice but to walk away. Today was for certain going to be the first day of second-guessing, self-destructive loathing, and everything inside of the kitchen sink.
And then this morning was this blog by Kristen Lamb.
I lived, I loved, and then I screwed it all up. And fell down… all the while putting on the act that I wasn’t hurting, and putting every blame on the other person because THEY were the ones who were hurting me. Not bothering to see that even though I was drinking the poison by the bucket, but when I was done with that daily bucket, I was shooting it also into my arm, causing self-inflicted pain and destruction.
Once I threw away the syringe and dropped the buckets to the ground and refused to take another drop, I thought that I had to wait for whatever was in my system to run its course.
Kristen’s post had given to a me a real hard kick that I needed to release any residual poison from my system.
It is okay to be human. After all, that is who we all are and are nothing else!!
And so it begins RIGHT NOW that new chapter, that new paragraph on a brand new page. Yes it is scary as hell because I am facing a new day without that dose of poison and I don’t know what will happen but if I allow myself to be strong for me and help me, then most assuredly I will be okay.
I will give all the credit today to Kristen. Be sure to check out her entire blog. She’s one of the funniest women that I’ve almost met.
Ladies & gentlemen, readers and subscribers and followers: here we are.
After much pondering and decision making, I had decided that it was time to unveil a NEW Blogger Award.
I had been seen these other blog awards being tossed around like steam stacks of hot potatoes and I began to wonder what could it possibly be about these awards that they just collect mental dust because honestly, nobody has anything tangible to show for it.
Well….. neither does this award. Nothing tangible. But we will see how far it goes.
Why a new blog award??
Good question.
In my personal journey of blogging over this three year and more time span, one cannot help but cross paths with people that will put such a positive influence that it changes your life for the better.
These are the people that should be given the nod for the OMGYA! Award.
People that have given you some major impact, NOT someone who is just your BFF. People that you could say at a certain time in your life you did not know, but now you don’t believe that functioning without them is possible. THAT kind of impact!
And that is how you figure out your nomination.
People who are nominated (and choose to accept the award) are required to do just some of the standard blog award requirements.
They are to write in their own personal blog “their acceptance speech” and provide to their readers the person who gave them the original nomination. And then of course as always, that person will nominate any and all people that have made significant positive changes in their lives by way of their blog(s).
There are NO questions to answer about yourself.
There are NO questions to ask of your nominations.
There is NO limit as to how many nominations you can give. You can give 1 or you can give 10,000.
People who are NOT eligible for this award are the following:
Spouses/significant others
Siblings
Parents
Immediate Family Members of Bloggers and Writers
BFF’s
Spread your love and joy outside of your circles!! People who you appreciate and are grateful for because of their blog.
These are the people that I give this brand new award because I believe that they ARE awesome! They’ve reached down deep and pulled something out of me that has been lifting me up and make me better. They go the distance for me OR they are just needing to know that hey…. I care about you and what you are doing, damnit!!!
I am nominating them with the personal note of appreciation for all that they have done. I am forever grateful.
So I am not going to say too much about this. Instead I am just going to let you go through the quick video at the bottom and just let you watch for yourself.
Any and ALL social stereotypes are shattered, torn, and thrown out the window and left for the birds to prey upon.
This doesn’t end how you think it’s going to end. And yes it is pretty heated as well as epic.
But you won’t see the epic until the very end of the video so watch it all the way through until the end.
And if anyone finds the transcript to this battle, by all means let me know!!
Well for those of you who have come out from underneath their rocks this evening… welcome to life.
You may be noticing many people taking “selfies” and posting them everywhere that they can in the name of cancer awareness and the cure to the disease.
You will also notice that for those female participants, they are doing so without any make-up on their faces whatsoever.
Please excuse these people. They wanted to make sure that the world was aware of cancer as of lately and the sad part is that many people are thinking that if they post selfies that they are fighting the fight against cancer and moving towards a cure.
Ummmmm… what the hell?
These are the kinds of people that I am asking you to forgive and pay no attention to. As these are probably the same population of people that click the “LIKE” button on Facebook in order to cure children with cancer or other fatal diseases or small animals with injuries.
They do not understand that donations and money and science are the keys to a real cure.
They have been the true culprits of people who believe anything and everything that they see and/or read on Facebook or any other social media websites. Simply because its for a cause that they believe is a good cause.
Posting photographs onto the Internet and “LIKES” via Facebook don’t do anything in this world.
These selfies do one thing and one thing only: Show what women look like without make-up. And that’s all I can really say about it because beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder and it SHOULD be more than skin deep.
I just helped the remaining living skunk kingdom by posting a photo of a dead one… oh wait. No I DID NOT!
Its like people who want to help animals who are being tortured or abused in one way or another. Posting their bloody, disgusting, near death photographs isn’t doing what these people want to do… posting photographs doesn’t help these animals. It only disgusts people or turns them away completely.
Its amazing how people are missing that.
Awareness? Well yeah in a sense you are making people aware of the situation or problem that is going on. But that’s all you’re doing is showing that there’s an issue that you feel strongly for.
Are you closer to tackling the problem to get rid of it? Absolutely not!!! Wake up, folks!!!!
And now I am being told that there’s yet another awareness group that want to bring light to male testicular cancer. They are doing so by stuffing their “cocks in socks.”
Maybe the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS were on to something, and not just to shock their audiences when they performed wearing no clothes and only a sock over their stuff to keep from being arrested for public indecent exposure.
Go ahead… look it up. I’ll wait.
But if you wanna help fight the fight against cancer, find some organization to donate to. Find one that is has a good reputation and a place you feel safe to donate towards.
Just do society a favor, keep your dumbass ideas to yourself. They aren’t helping anyone. No cancer patient is feeling better because you posted a selfie onto the Internet.
If awareness is your goal then know this: you are making people are of something, but it is not the thing that you are hoping for!!!!!
“If voting changed anything, they’d make it illegal.”~ Emma Goldman
Yesterday it was brought to my attention about this contest by People Magazine.
It is called “PEOPLE’s Real Beauty At Every Age.”
Contestants submit a photograph and then the general public votes.
And for once, this was a contest where voting was allowed that you did NOT have to sign up for anything. You weren’t going to be issued future spam by the contest holder. And it was free to vote.
And you were also allowed to vote as many times as you wanted.
I had seen contestants that had hundreds of thousands of votes.
From what I am understanding a winner will be chosen from each decade (20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s etc.) by People Magazine and will be featured in a future issue.
The only reason why I know about it is because it was posted on Facebook and I went to see what the fuss was about.
This 31 year old woman named Shannon from Idaho Falls, Idaho was being featured in this Facebook post and come to find out that Shannon lives her life to help others every day and gives back to anyone that needs help. So selfless! And not to mention pretty.
But I was told “no flirting!” with her.
We were there to vote. And vote I did. In the 24+ hours that I knew that this contest existed I punched that button and clicked so many times that at last check she was over 9,000 votes.
Unfortunately this afternoon during a time of the day where this had actually slipped my mind that it was going on I had banged the side of my hand really hard against a table and its been throbbing and hurting ever since. Sadly its the same hand I use to control the computer mouse with. All the clicking and refreshing and voting came with a painful price.
But I kept on doing it.
As much as Shannon D. is selfless…. my voting through the agony of my arm hurting was my way of being selfless in return. I did stop and take a break when the pain was getting too bad. But when it would pass, I would go back and vote some more with the boring and tedious process of clicking and refreshing and then clicking again. Then repeating the process many times over.
Shannon thought that the voting ended at midnight Eastern time.. but I am still voting. So who knows when this is going to really end.
If you like what you see and wish to vote for this wonderful person then you can take your chances with the link provided below.
But be warned: I don’t know when they will close the voting. You don’t have to pay for anything or sign up for anything. Just click, vote, and hit refresh and vote as many time as you would like.
As for me and my hand and arm….. we’re defeated and I can no longer withstand the repetitive process any more.
I hope Shannon does well. She is at this point in the top 18 of all contests. I’d like to see her at least get to the top ten.
“It is time to clean the worms off of our boots and march in the grass.” ~ Dambreaker
I think that this will be the only time that I will bring up this topic. Because you even bad press is good press. No matter what you say about a person.
Fred Phelps, Sr. the ‘leader’ of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas has died at the age of 84.
They’ve been able to stir up so much hatred against their group by so many people that there has been many comments that I have heard throughout the years. Most of them about how Westboro needs to burn in hell and what not.
No matter what you think about them and the fact that their beginning leader is now dead and gone, this group will NOT be going anywhere any time soon.
The biggest thing is understanding WHY they are so full of hate.
Westboro Baptist Church was alleging that there was a problem of anonymous homosexual activity that was happening inside of Gage Park. And they wanted the city to do something about it to have it remove the group out of the park because the group wanted it to be a safe and better place for families to gather and children to play and they did not want the homosexuals to “ruin” it for children and families.
Well long story short…. WBC did not get what they wanted. Even with Fred Phelps Sr. and his law degree from Washburn University there in Topeka, WBC lost.
Enter: HATE.
And that’s the way it has been with this group since 1991. It seems as if everyone has been falling prey to them because hate begat hate. If people would have ignored them to begin with as they entered their realm of extreme views of pure hatred, they wouldn’t be as powerful as they are today. If nobody would have cared, it wouldn’t be such a hot topic.
Now the leader is dead. And a few people are NOT holding up their ends. What I mean is that there were people who claimed that they would celebrate and party hard once Fred Phelps Sr. was dead. In fact people have been silent. Perhaps these people came to their human senses and realized that it wasn’t such a great idea.
But do not count out WBC. The old poison is gone. The new poison is now in. The Phelps family will most likely continue on what they’ve been doing for these years without their leader and probably go even stronger and harder to piss off the world in their ways and fashion.
They are still among us. They are still on this Earth. And they have been given no real reason to stop their hatred for everything and anything, just because their leader is dead.
I suspect that WBC will mourn the death of their leader and then continue business as usual.
Its up to us to actually IGNORE these people. Most of us are not able to fight them as many of them have law degrees from Washburn University just like Fred Sr. They know how to protect themselves and hide behind the First Amendment.
So do what you wanna do about the news of the death, hell… many people thought about picketing one of THEIR funerals.
I cannot be sure, but I thought that I had read something about WBC requesting that nobody picket their funerals, which seems like an extremely absurd request considering all the funerals they’ve picketed themselves. But I cannot confirm they’ve said that.
Well, I’ve started my brand new wardrobe, thanks to the bright idea of going to SXSW Festival this year.
I’m shocked and surprised that even spending well under $100 that I have what I have.
Not to mention the good times and the really freakin’ weird times and there’s no regrets. Only that it ended.
My original plan and intent was to watch five bands. But when you get there too early or when bands are running late, you get that opportunity of hearing other bands that you may find yourself liking.
Such was the case with Jesus Wears Armani, Fear Control, and NANCY SILVA PROJECT.
I’m still on the fence about Eliquate as I don’t normally follow that style and genre of music. And there was nothing that they had in the way of merchandise that I could listen to later at home. All I know is that they are super serious about it all. I saw them at Shiner’s Saloon right before BEAUTIFUL DISTURBANCE and then I saw them performing at the southwest corner in the street of 6th & Neches. The singer saw me listening and nodding my head to the beat and he just up and popped me a high five. I guess I’ll have to find their music online. They are from Santa Cruz, California.
But I’ve seen musical groups from locally here in town to Seattle, Washington to Lafayette, Louisiana to NYC to Venezuela, Mexico, Austria. And met people from Germany, France, Russia, and Australia.
The local bands however are finding out the long and hard way that its beneficial that I am a fan of their music. I become the loudest mouth piece on the planet and scream their glory. And that’s what bands are really wanting. They want those kinds of fans that will talk to other people and spread their message… whatever that message may be.
And I think that’s also how I come to find myself swimming in mostly free swag and merchandise. I took several photographs of what I have but not all of it because it was starting to become a burden to set up everything that I had for photographs.
Just know that this is probably about 1/5 of all that I have. As far as music and miscellaneous …. that’s what I have, but the t-shirts? Not even close. Some are in the dirty laundry. One I am wearing right now. And others are hanging in the closet that I couldn’t find the first sweep through.
I will always get behind the idea that during a show that you get there early. Even if the band that you want to see is playing later. Because you never know if you are going to like something. And it seems like it is always happening to me that I hear something new and I love it. Then I get into it, and then start screaming and waving their banner.
“I have a love interest in every one of my films: a gun.” ~ Arnold Schwarzenegger
Let me tell you a little story about a small Pub & Grill in South Carolina.
The establishment or at least the owner made a decision to not allow concealed weapons inside. So the owner created one hell of a sign for his business and promptly displayed it in the window.
Now I do understand that this is still a hot issue to discuss but I don’t think that it matters what side you are on about guns and gun control and whatever. The fact remains that the sign calls those people who wish to carry a concealed weapon a loser…. as well as a douchebag.
Uh oh… I smell trouble. He done gone and did it. And pissed off a majority of those who own guns and who decide that carrying a concealed weapon is their Second Amendment right according to the United States Constitution. And basically his First Amendment rights of expressing how he feels on the topic went out the window right after he started calling certain groups of people names. Had he not called them a loser and a douchebag, then this wouldn’t be getting as much attention as it is.
So as you can see, people are extremely pissed off. And I think it has more to do with the public display of insulting name calling rather than the Second Amendment issue of whether or not to carry. After all, it is his choice of whether or not he wants concealed weapons inside of his pub. But there are proper and more official signs that this owner can get hands on instead of being this passive-aggressive person.
Yelp is flooded with unhelpful comments and negative reviews. This business is probably going to go down in flames pretty fast, if the owner doesn’t either change the signs to a more official sign or publicly apologize for their actions.
People on the Internet are deeply, deeply cruel. These people will not relent I am sure.
Let this be a lesson to everyone out there who runs or owns a business. Adding insults and name calling will only cause you more anguish and hardship. Its just not worth pissing off your future customers. Because its the general public that you are pissing off and its the general public that will decide whether or not they want to go spend their money at your place.
This guy is probably going to go down with the ship. If it survives, then it survives based on the business given by people who share the same opinion and viewpoints about guns.
But still, what a pity when the mouth opens and crap flies out!!
“Never stop yearning. Never stop learning. Never stop fighting. Never stop trying.”~ Kash Sarkaria of Fear Control
Minutes after CASKET OF CASSANDRA and immediately after Echoes In Oblivion came a band that I was able to see the Friday before for the first time at the HoT Rock Fest stages.
These guys totally captured my attention.
And this is the exact reason why I say that there’s no harm or foul in going to these kinds of shows where many bands are playing and to check them out instead of just seeing who you want to see and then leave.
Supporting the music industry is what it is all about.
So on Friday the 14th of March here was this local band called Fear Control. They were hard. They were fast. And most importantly they were completely brutal.
Damn. Who are these redheads that you draw to your stage? And the rest of the party animals too???
I had never heard this kind of metal before. At least not live. Fear Control got up there and everything was passion-fueled and full throttle, balls to the wall heavy metal music.
People who had been out there for hours and probably most of them drunk or drinking lost their minds and just went into their own little worlds and enjoyed the crap out of the show.
Several times for my own safety, I had to roll far away to the left of the stage because impromptu mosh pits kept popping up and I didn’t want to get hit by anyone. Especially if they were drunk or drinking.
Nonetheless the music alone captured my attention and I was hooked and reeled in. And yes, the eye candy was pretty good!!
Kudos to Fear Control on that one. And my apologies if I am offending anyone’s girlfriend/wife.
For a good half hour was hardcore and thrashing music. Something that I hadn’t heard all day long. And knowing that I was going for a band that wasn’t that hard… it was different to my ears but it was a GOOD different.
After the show I just felt so compelled to talk to them. Or at least to the lead singer. I threw the horns up at the bass player and then the head nod and then the thumbs up. He reciprocated.
Ladies and gentlemen: That right there is a full conversation from beginning to end, in the heavy metal world.
The weather started to suck but Fear Control made it through. Their headbanging style was incredible. Their musical abilities and talents were beyond what I had even thought possible. I really was liking this friggin’ band. And I was still going to be around for a while.
So I had my five minutes in the sun with Kash Sarkaria and I felt like a childish dork with words stumbling out of my mouth. Thankfully he probably realized that I was still in awe of the band’s music and was relishing every moment of it and he gave me a break. Kash is a rather nice man. Funny as shit too!
At the end of our conversation he gave me a t-shirt, for FREE. His only rule was that I wore it. Well when I found out that they were going to be playing along with CASKET OF CASSANDRA two days later, that was a no brainer.
These two bands together at one show? How fortunate could I have been???
Frankie Rodriguez (left) and Kash Sarkaria (center) of Fear Control playing at Dirty Dog Bar.
I really have enjoyed Fear Control’s music live though. I rolled on throughout the rest of the week and I remember passing by Kash and he asked if I had even left the stage area.. and I jokingly told him that I had slept on stage overnight. You know, because that would be so metal.
Sunday the 16th at the Dirty Dog Bar it took a couple of passes by Kash for him to realize that I was there. The rest of his band mates noticed me and said hello as well. It was like a funky groovy family reunion that had only been separated by 48 hours. But that was okay.
It was more of the same goodness that I had heard on Friday.
The exception was that I was again front and center on the stage. I remember giving Franke and Kash both the horns and they flared them back at me. It was so awesome. I love it when I am able to interact with people on stage one way or another. It just shows that they are seeing and caring about those who have come out to hear them.
I sat there with my new Fear Control t-shirt and just soaked it all in. Until they got to the end of their set and then Kash was giving lyrics for singing instructions for their final song called “Off With His Head.”
However someone struck a guitar chord during the explanation of the lyrics and I could not hear what they were so I could not really sing along.
Off with his head … ……… something.
Whomever played that chord? Step into my office, ‘cuz you’re fuckin’ fired!!
I jest. As well as digress. I asked after the show what the lyrics were. But by then it was too late to sing along.
I looked over and saw members of CASKET OF CASSANDRA screaming and headbanging and raising their beers into the air off to the left of me and I thought about how that was cool of the band members to come over and support this new (to me) band.
Kash gave me their EP, and I could’ve just hugged the man. But hey, keeping it metal….
Now I’m addicted to the song “Off With His Head” and I haven’t stopped playing it today.
I cannot wait until they know when their next show is going to be. Apparently they play at the Dirty Dog a lot. And since I kinda know the place it won’t be that difficult to manage. Just sucks having to take that long 30+ minute bus ride each way.
But Fear Control was a band that I picked up during the SXSW Festival this year. I think that they’re going to stick just like POC NATION did.
“I will fucking kill you!” ~ ‘The Egotist’ by CASKET OF CASSANDRA
At long last the ending of SXSW 2014 was upon us.
The barricades disappeared as well as the crowds, trash was everywhere. It looked like a building full of comic books and graphic novels had exploded its contents all over the streets and sidewalks.
But my back and forth travels were not done. Not by a long shot. It was time to finish six consecutive days of travel for last but definitely not least, CASKET OF CASSANDRA.
Operation: Solitaria Redemption.
After chatting with drummer Chris Campagna, as well as vocalist Amanda Maddera, I was given to understand that this coming show would in fact play “Solitaria.” So if I wanted to hear my favorite song from them played live then I had no choice but to strap on a pair through my fatigue and once more head out to the downtown area and back inside the Dirty Dog Bar for their show.
A 2:00 PM show was hardly anyone’s idea of fun. Especially those who went to SXSW at any time during the week especially the last couple of days, let alone six consecutive days.
I soldiered on.
I was warmly greeted by the entire band and was able to hang out just for a moment with them and engage in conversations about their music and how excited I was to be there. Most of them giving me their personal guarantee that “Solitaria” was going to be played that very day.
I was filled to the brim with excellence and excitement.
For those of you who just read the word “excrement” go to your room!!
CASKET OF CASSANDRA was first on the bill to hit the stage. It is always fun to watch Maddera do a microphone check because for those people in the venue who don’t know her or do not know what the band is all about gets a surprise drizzling down their leg when she does the sound check.
I literally heard behind me “… da fuck was that?!?” to someone who was not anticipating her style of vocals. Is it wrong of me to have laughed at that point?
So as they were preparing for the start the show, they gathered in unity as a band for a gimmick of wearing fake mustaches of various bright and florescent colors. That cracked me up.
I turned to Campagna and said “Casket Of Gimmicks!” and he turned to the rest of the band and related that message to them. A good laugh was had.
The show started and I was melting like hot butter on popcorn because CASKET OF CASSANDRA started with “Solitaria.”
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! I just wanted to hug someone. Anyone. Yep. Big ass hug for someone, anyone… right here, right now.
Anyone? No?? Damn. Oh well.
I got into the song and started singing along, doing whatever and again didn’t care what the people behind me thought they saw me do. That is the whole point of getting into the music like I do…. is to reach that escape into pure enjoyment where the bullshit of the world disappears from my mind and I do not have to deal with it.
First song and it was finished. I applauded so hard that my hands were going to break apart. Or so I thought.
Then Amanda Maddera turned her back to the crowd setting up for song number two.
She turned back towards the crowd and screamed: “I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!” and the band jumped in. I had never been so scared in my entire life. I was sitting there front and center of the stage. I could hear both the air from her vocal chords coming from her throat as well as the sounds from her larynx as well as it being amplified through the microphone.
It was a song that I inquired about later called “The Egotist.” I know that they are working on a new album and I was told that would be one of them. Unless I heard wrong? That song just broke me into pieces and I cannot wait to hear it recorded. I will never doubt Amanda on anything ever again. Good grief that was bad ass!!!
Those of you in the California area who have seen them play live know all too well what I am talking about! This stuff is just mind-blowing and amazing.
Not your Coyote Ugly show!!
Eventually the set would go on and again I would be reminded as to why Amanda Maddera uses a wireless microphone.
She jumped off stage and roamed around the bar for a while. The band came closer together on stage and rocked their own socks off as well as those in front.
Meanwhile, I could hear Amanda singing but where the hell was she? I mean seriously. Did she slip inside of a wall somewhere and stay put?
Nope. She was standing on the one of the corners of the bar.
She had been given a cookie by someone and she had it and her microphone in hand. By the time I turned around and got closer to the bar for photographs, she fed a woman standing there a nibble of her cookie.
“Communion of Cassandra” ?? Nahhhh!!!
Amanda Maddera (vocals) and Quinton Rivera (bass). Quinton in mid-flight of a head bang…Amanda in a vocal scream.
It was incredible to watch. Then she came back to the stage and finished off the song with a hellacious headbang.
That girl knows how to headbang for sure. She slams and she swirls. And the members of the band all have enough hair to look decent with headbanging…. with the exception of Campagna. But he’s the time keeper and doesn’t have time to think about it. But I am sure he’s doing it in his heart as he rattles on his drum kit.
This was a different set than what I had seen from the first time I watched this band. Most of it was made up of their new material. Songs that they are getting ready to release on their new album. They are guessing it will be released later in May of this year.
Amanda Maddera crawls over anything and everything to “Bury You.”
It was all worth the sacrifice. Even though a couple of days ago I was sick. After being around hundreds of strange people, who knows what was floating around out there.
At the end, they performed their brand new song called “Bury You” and I’ve been listening to that online since they released it. It available for purchase and you choose the price! The money goes to help them go on tour later this year. Anything and everything I am sure will be appreciated by them.
Amanda crawled all over the monitors at the front of the stage and it scared the crap out of me……again.
She was so close to me, screaming and singing, that I could have reached out and touched her. I just didn’t want her taking that aggressive nature in her music to her advantage to rip my arm clean off my body.
I’m digging that song to death. So the first and the final song….. I TOTALLY am addicted to!!! I hope that they get to do their tour and blow more minds and bring more into their musical fold.
I am glad that I’ve been in contact with the different members of the band. I’m slowly and surely becoming friends with them and that’s great. Having conversations with different members of the band both before and after the show was really cool.
Since this was a showcase … other bands were soon to follow.
Members of CASKET OF CASSANDRA were not inside of the club at the time the next band got on their microphones to address the crowds at one point… and if ANY of the members of CASKET OF CASSANDRA are reading this, then please know that Echoes In Oblivion said “Thank you to Casket of Cassandra for melting our fuckin’ faces off with their music. They are so good!”
So there you have it. Not only a fan/friend’s point of view. But from the point of view from another band.
