“Drink because you are happy, but never because you are miserable.”~ Gilbert K. Chesterton

Yep, you are reading this right. IT STILL WORKS.
This is a t-shirt that I had custom made recently this year. And it serves well for many purposes. But its legacy has taken off.
First, an explanation as to why it exists.
As an adult with a disability, I can safely say that I have had a lot of people come up to me and ask a lot of questions. Some innocently out of their own ignorance. But A LOT of personal questions that are downright stupid.
With children, the most popular question I get is: What happened to your legs?

Innocent enough. I answer the best that I can. Or I just tell them “That’s how I was born.”

With adults, the most popular question I get (outside of “What happened?”) would be something like:

Can you still do it? Does your dick work? Can you have sex? Can you feel “down there?”

Anything like that.

Trust me, it is really annoying. Especially since it is none of their business. Considering that a vast majority of the people asking, I will never see again in my lifetime.

So I decided to answer the question once and for all.

Honestly, I have not had a single person come up to me asking that kind of question ever since I wore the shirt out in public the first couple of times. Of course there have been some people who have seen it and read it, thinking with dirty minds. It was something that I anticipated to happen. And I just deal with the laughter and snickering that people think that I cannot hear behind my back.

Now let me tell what has happened since I started wearing the shirt in public.

As expected, I have a lot of people tell me that they like the shirt, as they sit there and laugh real hard until they can no longer breathe.

A few times I have had people come up to me, asking to take a photograph of it. In which I do not have a problem with.

I went out last night to watch the band AUTUMN STAY play a show at the Dirty Dog Bar wearing the shirt. And the legacy took off with a whole new chapter.

Before the show even got started, two people who said that they loved the shirt buy me drinks. One of which happened to be the touring band that was in town. The other an employee of a different bar next door.

It didn’t stop the entire night. Drink after drink after drink after drink. Included with so many people asking to take photos. And of course…. I never really know where those photos end up. 19221669_10154696784091453_5194340704344925977_o

As the night continued, more and more drinks and more and more photos. I didn’t have to spend ANY money on refreshments last night. And it was very very HOT, now that it is June in Texas. I think the temperature reached 100°F for the first time in 2017. Hydration was very important last night.

I had several people passing by continually expressing to me that they liked the shirt up and down Sixth Street. And a few women came up to me asking what it meant. As if that was not obvious enough. And other women were either brave enough or drunk enough to end up kissing me!!!

To this day, I have not had anyone challenge me to find out whether or not I am lying. I mean of course it works. If I cannot go through the process of urination, I am in trouble!!!! But yes I know what this hints at. And its supposed to. It has more than one function, perverts.

Before there was a time when someone would ask me if it works, I would answer “There’s only one way to find out!” but nobody ever followed through on that. And that is probably a blessing in disguise.

The only problem that I can see wearing the shirt is that some story randomly finds my family. But they already know about it. I told my parents, and all I got back in response was a chuckle. Especially from my father. So really, I am good.

Stay tuned for more adventures of It Still Works as it travels into the world.

pic11“I had more clothes than I had closets, more cars than garage space, but no money.” ~ Sammy Davis, Jr.

This morning there is a garage sale happening at our apartment complex. It is expected to go well into the afternoon. But I don’t see it actually lasting until noon.

I went early and I could not believe my eyes to the amounts of CRAP that were being sold.

If its one thing in life that I have not figured out, it is the garage sale.

One table has nothing but clothes. Another table has nothing but assorted and various electronic equipment, such DVD’s & CD’s. Another table has nothing but knick-knacks. And yet another table has nothing but decorative items to “dress” your tissue or Kleenex boxes. A very neat and decorative idea, but not neat ENOUGH for $15 each. And definitely not for a garage sale.

At the time that I showed up, pretty much everything was nothing but useless rubbish. With the exception of the clothing which was overpriced for a garage sale, plus they were women’s clothing. The DVD’s were not what was being advertised. There was a DVD cover for a specific film, but when you opened the case, a burned off copy of a totally different film was inside.

There was  collector’s edition of The Pink Panther films. Supposed to be a 6-disc DVD set. Discs 1 and 4 are missing.

Do you see where I am going with this???

Nothing honest, and nothing cheap.

I am embarrassed to live next to these people. I really am.

One table had various and assorted junk such as clothing that didn’t fit, telephones with cords attached, and the like. The difference here was that every item on the table was less than $1.00! Some things broken, chipped, or missing pieces. But it was less than one dollar.

The table next to her were decorative pieces and reused personal bags that were crafted by someone who formerly lived here and had passed away. I was there for that transaction back in November. These personally created bags were sold to the neighbor for $2.00 a piece. Now today they are on a table, listed as $4.00 a piece. The unfortunate thing that she does not understand is that those of us here who would want to buy those creative bags– already have them. They aren’t going to sell here. Her luck will be greater if someone from the public comes in and buys them.

So I still don’t understand the whole idea behind a garage sale. Is it to turn a profit or is it to lessen what you have and get rid of things you no longer want without worrying about whether or not you will earn or lose money???

Someone please help me out!

Do you enjoy going to garage sales? Do you sell things to make a profit or do you just get rid of it all?

I’m not one who gets sucked into the world of fashion. I have deaf ears towards those who tell me what I should and should not be wearing season by season, year after year.

In fact, I get on the nearest soap box when I am shopping for clothes and I find something that I like, and the price tag is well over $20.

And boy do I get LOUD.

But this purchase of many years ago landed me a nice comfortable button up blue shirt that I had actually found in a Chinese shop in a shopping mall. Complete with gold stitching of Chinese dragons.

Under $20 (even from a shopping mall) and there was another one that was red in color. I wanted both but could not afford them both. So I bought the blue and made plans to go back and by the red at a later date.

Unfortunately it was more than a year before I would return to that same shopping mall. And that Chinese shop was gone and replaced with a GNC store.

I never got the red. But I had the blue. And I have been wearing it only during special events or important dates or whatever. Now I wear it whenever I go out to a show whether its local or out of town.

Over the years, it has had its ups and downs. It’s been mended and sown back together again in the shoulder area. Thanks to the mother of the woman that you do not see here in the photograph, who is wearing the blue leopard print style dress.

However during the first “date” that I wore the shirt on, I noticed that the woman would not keep her hands to herself. She kept rubbing all over wherever there was this soft silky-feeling material.

I observed her hands and her eyes throughout the rest of the night. She just found something about it to be irresistible.

I wore it again at another official function and people were coming up to me, placing their hands around my shoulders and up and down my back, softly drawing their fingertips up and down my spine.

Nobody else was doing this but females. When I button up this shirt and I head outside…. apparently I am unstoppable and irresistible.

Feel my Chinese silky wrath!!! Oh wait… you already do.

Never mind.

I have about a half a dozen nice looking shirts where this has happened when I was wearing them. But none so much as the blue shirt. I finally had to name it: Lady Killer #1. And it went up to #3 but 2 and 3 were destroyed or discarded by the foolish and careless.

When women see me in it, they can’t help themselves but to touch it. Some announce that they are about to, others just get a free feel.

When I was out the other night, I promised I was going to write about this….. but this past Tuesday, I was sitting outside on the sidewalk getting fresh air and some random drunk woman just totally attacked me from behind. She grabbed as much of the shirt that she could in her palm and began to pull.

With the PTSD that I get to deal with…. it wasn’t the best of ideas for her to have. But she suddenly and mysteriously let go as she had grabbed it in the first place. As I pulled away from whomever was attacking me, this woman rolled her face and chest all over my back. Her hands all over my arms, neck, shoulders, and chest……. IN public!!!

I was in very close range of her face to find her eyes totally red and bloodshot. Her breath smelling like the lethal mixture of high grade alcohol and tobacco.

Vyper Lily stepped up to remove the woman from her attachment to my body however her male counterpart actually had her by one of her hands and pulled her back in line to continue on their journey. I heard her shout at me as she walked off “Oh my God!! I fucking love that shirt!! I WANT IT!!” to which the answer by her male companion was “Shut up and keep walking.”

Over the years, women have been discreet or secretive about putting their hands on me, or rather the shirt instead of just asking me about it. There have been times when women have asked if it was okay to touch it. And then we had this drunken sow.

So its been all over the place. Touched by countless women, married, single, divorced, or otherwise. And it doesn’t discriminate either. All kinds and manners of females have felt the shirt. If there was a way to charge people to do it, I would do it. But you just cannot stop someone from wanting to come up and start feeling around. Especially like the drunk who came from behind.

I guess that I should be feeling lucky that nobody has gone “Beatlemania” on my butt and torn the thing right off my body.

It still reigns supreme. Nobody can resist it.

“Yeah, baggy jeans are done. Nobody wants to wear big, baggy jeans. Baggy jeans are completely over with.”~Wiz Khalifa

Well I’ve been itching to blog about this one for a long time now. But I wanted to make sure that I researched it well enough to know what I was talking about.

Turns out, there’s not much to research at all.

What a bummer.

But this whole thing of sagging pants has infected the entire world many times over and I either cringe or just shake my head ashamed.

I could never really find out just where the idea had come from. I could not find its origins. Nor could I find any special or particular meaning behind it all. But then I did find something that was repeated over and over and over and over again. And there’s NOTHING to refute it:  DXbbm

Or at least something similar to this is what I have been finding.

And that REEAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLY is disturbing, should this be true. But like I said, there’s nothing that I found that argues that this is false.

Now the flow of thinking made me wonder if whether or not these people actually knew about this and therefore knew what the hell they were doing. And of those who knew, how many of them STILL would sag their pants…? justin-bieber-shirtless-sagging-pants-0301-07-900x1200

I guess some things are better left in the dark. Isn’t that right, Justin?

Well, I guess not.

Saying that this is a fashion statement is not what I would say. Its actually gross and dirty to be walking around like this. And ESPECIALLY if what what I found out about it, is true.

Why would anyone want to subject themselves to this??

The thing that scares me is that someone who is sagging their pants like this unknowing crosses paths with someone who DOES know, and they get attacked??

That sounds dangerous.

But then again, I do not think that the same thing relates to women. Especially with their styles of clothing. girlsthong

Something just doesn’t seem right at all with females doing it. I have the feeling that the double standard is definitely in place.

All in all, its sad to see that this is “trending” in society. Something that comes from the prison culture is now in society on a grand scale.

And there’s probably no end in sight on this trend.

Trust me when I say, that nobody wants to see your ass hanging out when you are walking by and minding your own business.

If you wanna shake that groove thing behind closed doors, that’s another story. And PLEASE DON’T get me started on Twerking.  Just do yourself and the WORLD a favor. PANTS
