$_58“Marriage is a good deal like a circus: there is not as much in it as is represented in the advertising.”~E. W. Howe

A few days ago, my computer basically gave up.

The power would not turn on. I was stuck.

So with the help of family, I was able to run out and go look for another one.

I only needed the machine. The tower, if you will.

After several minutes of spending half of my time looking over machines and the other half of trying to hear what my nephew was telling me, I finally heard the voice of one of the employees.

“Looking for a new computer?” Geez, Einstein. Good guess! I don’t know how you did it!!

I noticed a pattern that from right to left, the price would go down. So obviously I kept moving left but kept in mind that I wanted and needed specifics in the machine.

The employee moved me back over towards the right and showed me a machine that he felt was a good one. Stating that he had it before in the past, similar to it.

Okay well that is all good and everything. This machine that was presented to me had a price of $129.95.. not bad at all.

I had gone in there with a budget. I was only going to spend so much. And I could afford that, but would anyone actually buy it if they could get it for a lower price?

A few moments later, I pretty much found a machine that was nearly 100% the same machine that I had at home that stopped working. My reasoning was: This is what I have, and I am fine with it, just replace it and start over.

This similar machine was $89.95, so cheaper than the one I was shown.

I checked its specs and I was satisfied with it, and I had picked it up and went to purchase it.

My nephew and I just stood there waiting for someone, anyone to come complete the transaction.

Finally the same guy shows up and he begins to go through the process of checkout. But little did I know that there was a “paper work” involved, so it took some time to go through and he said “We’re not ready for the cash part yet. Put your wallet down.”

He then checked the price tag to scan it, and literally shouted at me.

“This is not the same computer. This has a core 2, the one I showed you has a core 3… much faster!”

Rudeness, anyone?? I told him I was on a budget. To which he snapped “Doing budget computers, eh?” Dude whatever, shut up and finish the transaction.

Well as the saying goes, it was my lucky day. This week and this week only…  everything was 20% off.

And so the guy had to tell the computer to take off the discount.

He did not specifically ask me if I was. He did not ask to see any forms of identification to show my age. He had already made the assumption. Either that or he was just trying to be super nice to me. But apparently there was an additional 10% off for those customers 55 and over.

The only response I gave him after he told me that he put the additional discount on when he handed me my receipt and change was: “Every little bit helps!” I had no idea he had done that until I paid.

My newly purchased computer, complete with taxes and everything else was a whopping $68.16 total. Well within the money I had budgeted.

I took the computer and my nephew and left and caught up with my sister and showed her the machine and then showed her the receipt.

Then I sent a message to my brother, telling him the same story. Both of my siblings had the same response “It is because of your grey and white hair.”

The moral of the story… don’t be so vain about your hair changing colors naturally. It is going to happen any way. And sometimes it can work in your favor.

As of lately, I’ve been rather annoyed with the ads that Facebook has decided to include into everyone’s wall that mixes up with the newsfeed of every day shenanigans.

It ranges from celebrities to new cars to even Viagra (or at least generic forms of it that claim to be even more potent than the orginal.)

And then there was this ad, showcasing the new single called “Problem” by singer Ariana Grande:

Ariana Grande – “Problem”

Say what?

Again, the single is called “Problem” and now I have a personal one. Holy smokes!

She may have one less problem without me, but now I have a new one. One REALLY BIG one.

So in an effort to find out who she was and all of that, I looked her up on the Internet. Come to find out that she’s been around on the scene for a while.

Ariana has been on Broadway for a while a few years ago. She’s starred in a few television programs that was picked up by Nickelodeon. And she’s even starring along side Jeannette McCurdy (from iCarly fame) in a television program called “Sam and Cat.”

Her career met big time success when she recorded an album and released a song called “The Way.”

After that, she’s been quite the charmer and quite the crooner. She turns 21 years old this year and a lot of people that I have talked to cannot believe it.

I finally broke down and listened to her song “Problem” and I fell right out of my wheelchair. It just didn’t sound like the voice of a 20 year old. But rather the voice of a very experienced artist that can run with the big girls!! It reminded me of Mariah Carey…. of which Ariana gives credit to looking up to growing up. Wallpaper-HD-Ariana-Grande-2013

So here’s the point of this post and the dilemma that has naturally followed.

Ariana Grande’s character is apparently a redhead. So for the taping of the shows, she has dyed her brown hair red.

And then she’s bleached it out and brought it back to her natural color.

Back and forth and back and forth she has done this for the sake of the Nickelodeon show.

Before she knew it, she found herself in the midst of a very minor crisis from the general snob public’s opinion about her hair.

With all the back and forth between dying it red and then getting it back to the natural color… the damage was great enough that her hair started to fall out. Now there’s hair extensions to cover up the damaged hair and she’s just waiting for it all to grow back.  ariana

So as I am starting to learn more and listen even more than ever, I went to eBay to see what was what over there and find out just what I could buy if she had her albums sold or not.

What I would find would horrify me.

Some eBay seller from right here in the ATX is claiming to be selling Ariana Grande’s hair!!!!!!!!

I do not know if this means that this is the hair that has been professionally cut or its a huge mass of hair that has fallen out due to the hair damage or not.

This is ridiculous!! Not since the great eBay hype of 1999 about the auctions being posted over real human organs has this subject matter come up. And no matter what the truth behind this story is… it is disgusting.

Someone needs to report this. I’m pretty sure that Ariana Grande isn’t endorsing this. And I would think that it would not be her selling it herself for a profit. $5.00 … really? She’s making tons more than that on iTunes with the selling of her single. It went #1 in just 30 minutes of it being released on iTunes.

So it doesn’t make sense that she’s selling her own fallen out hair! ariana_grande_twitter_sad_face_blue_shirt_6cm48LF.sized

The chances of it being legit and real are very low. The only way that we (as the eBay customers) are going to be sure that its Ariana Grande’s hair is through DNA testing and that’s expensive.

So unless someone’s got a lot of cash we can just automatically assume that this is bullshit and someone’s using the name of Ariana Grande in efforts to make some kind of money.

“If truth is beauty, how come no one has their hair done in the library?”~Lily Tomlin

In just a few days, over 1.1 MILLION views came to the hair tutorial of this Florida middle school girl. Why? Because the unthinkable happened and to be honest, one of the funniest things to have happened in a long time on the Internet.

The hair tutorial that Tori Locklear was recording when horribly, horribly wrong when she misjudged her own curling iron. The inevitable and the horrific happened.

And over a million people now have seen it in its fully restored glory.

Another video gone viral and for what or why? Because other people thought it was hilarious.

But good grief! I don’t understand why anyone who has been captured on video OR at least had been recording a video and something out of the ordinary and unexpected had happened.  Scarlet-takes-a-tumble-430x168

Do we all remember a certain woman that went by the name of Scarlet?

OF COURSE WE DO!

We all have seen the unfortunate circumstances that unfolded when she decided to step up and dance and continue her performance on a table that ended in tragedy.

We all laughed our asses off at that one though. Many people even went to lengths to record their reactions to the video or record someone else’s reaction. I recall thinking about recording MY OWN reaction to watching the video and posting it as my first YouTube video. Thankfully, I talked myself out of it.

Since “Scarlet Takes A Tumble” there have been many videos that have gone viral and then went away quietly into the night.

Locklear’s decision to post this video, if I am hearing correctly, was something that she held on to and then made a decision later to post it. Her thought along with others, is what I don’t understand.

Why in the world would anyone willingly post something that humiliating or horrible of themselves to YouTube or anywhere else on the Internet??

Scarlet’s viral video is still exceptionally funny to this day. But nobody’s ranting about it any more and they haven’t been ranting about it for a very long time now. And other viral videos from other vloggers and bloggers haven’t really made anyone rich that they are still talked about today.

Remember Antoine Dodson? No?? How about “hide yo kids, hide yo wife”.. does that ring a bell? That probably did.

He’s no longer much in the public eye either. Although to give him credit, his appearance on a YouTube video was not because of him being or doing something humiliating.

Poor Tori Locklear though. This accident happened to her, and millions are laughing still all week this week. Who knows why in the world she decided to post this video! It could have been because she wanted to become viral, and possibly be famous from it. After all, bad press is still good press. But I cannot honestly say to you that is the reason why this video has blown up in the past several days.

Question still remains: WHY??
