“It’s Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”

About a week ago, a YouTube video went totally viral with Andy Rehfeldt’s cover of the lovable Disney classic tune “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”

A DEATH METAL COVER!

Yes, Mr. Rehfeldt has this talent of taking a specific genre of music, recording a cover of that song, but changing the genre.

Pop goes Death Metal. Heavy Metal goes Jazz or Funk. It is actually quite good and quite entertaining!

I am always impressed with Mr. Rehfeldt and his musical talents and abilities.

I had to laugh when he changed the #1 hit “My Heart Will Go On” to a death metal tune. I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed.

However, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from the film “Mary Poppins” is actually a duet between Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. Mr. Rehfeldt lends his talents for Dick Van Dyke’s parts of the song. But there’s a distinct female death metal vocal for Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins. sera1

Who is she?

After doing a little bit of digging, her name is Sera Hatchett. Lead vocalist for the band Mercy Brown, from Washington state.

I have to say that I am impressed with her voice and her abilities to go into that growling “cookie monster” vocals.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for Mercy Brown’s music. The whole Mary Poppins cover song is just so much fun to listen to!!!

I wonder if after they finish their time in the recording studio if they will do any touring in this direction? That would be sweet. I’d go! sera2

If you want to check out any of their information, videos, news, and whatever else that they may have to offer to the general public, there are links to their perspective Facebook pages below.

Personally though, I would LOVE to hear Amanda Maddera from CASKET OF CASSANDRA sing the vocal parts of Mary Poppins. I think she would just kill it!!!!

I think that there has to be great talent to be able to do what they’ve done here. Anyone can sing. And anyone can perform cover songs. But to know how to switch one song from one genre to the other, that’s just awesome.

It has been a while dear readers. I know, I know.

I haven’t forgotten about this blog or about the fabulous faithful disciples.

I’ve been busy with brand new projects and keeping other things in check.

But I just wanted to show you what I found in the mailbox today.

For some of you who do not know what I am talking about, there’s a link below at the bottom of this post.

I did it because I wanted to be part of the nostalgia. My t-shirt wardrobe (with the help of Dr. Froth and Ferverwear) soon will be expanding. It will be a necessary expenditure for what I have lined up ahead of me.

But no I am not abandoning this blog. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s the brand new t-shirt, and the story that goes with it .

29 year old Natasha Goldsmith of Exeter, England cannot land a man. She just can’t seem to get a boyfriend.

Because she has over tens of thousands of items from Hello Kitty.

Her tiny one room home is just CLUTTERED with stuff everywhere. And she’s got items in the kitchen and in her closet as well.

Natasha has spent almost (in U.S. dollars) nearly $100,000 lives in her “Kitty Kingdom” and has been collecting for the last 15 years.  download (1)

I watched a video interview with her as she willingly and happily showed off her “Kitty Kingdom” to the media. She kept talking about how many items were given to her. However, I seriously doubt that much merchandise actually HAS been given to her as gifts. At least not as much as she claims.

When a grown adult wears a tiara all the time, and has this much collectibles in their homes…. do they really have the right to be complaining about their single relationship status? What do you think??

Do you have a collection of anything? If so, what do you collect??

I think I have a great idea that I can take internationally but I will have to think it through first. I’ll get back to you on that in a brand new blog post in the future.

I have a fun story to tell. Some probably already got a glimpse of this on Facebook.

I noticed a few days ago that several copies were printed off of my blog post of “The Donut Dollies”. I knew who had done it, but at the time I didn’t say a word. But this morning I noticed that the stack of copies of my printed off blog post were fewer and fewer. So I am guessing that people were taking them to read.

Then the person who was responsible for printing it off and sharing it with the rest of the people here walked in and so I finally asked her about it.

Of course she admitted to doing it and then she explained that she had e-mailed the URL of the blog post to her family and close friends and their families.

She reported that one of her best friends had printed it off and shared the story with their children. And she also sent it to her son, and her son printed it off and shared it with his child as well.

I thought that of course the story of The Donut Dollies was a very interesting one. And apparently they did too.

The children that were told this story actually took the blog with them to school. And they discussed it in their class.

For that, I was amazed and a little flattered.

I know that sometimes my blog as whole gets passed around. That is evident to the amount of total views. Yet I do not really know who else is reading it and I do not know to what extent my blog posts gets shared and passed around. I do however, think that its cool!

And I also know that people are reading, even though they do not come out into the public and tell me “Hey, I liked your post” or whatever. They sit in silence and they read.

I never know which blog post is going to make either a wave or a big splash. But I think that as a writer/blogger when it does happen, it’s something that I become very proud of.

A lot of people seem to enjoy the personal experiences of life that when I look back, is just so funny or silly. Some call me a comedian, but I’m still not on stage or on television talking about my experiences and stories. I’m not sure that’s something I would do. Still people seem to enjoy it.

This post though, seems to have really spread like wildfire, going viral.. statewide.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here. And for those silent readers… thank you. And thank you to all who visit and read my blog.
